Most in-season practices for the younger age groups, and novice wrestlers are an hour long. For experienced wrestlers or athletes who want more time on the mat, coaching staff can extend an additional half hour, when schedules allow.
How long is in-season practice?
All wrestling tournaments have registrations associated. Tournament registration fees average around $25, per wrestler. Although your USA wrestling card is included in your registration fee, tournament fees are paid by each family at the time of registering. Not all families will choose to go to every tournament. If a family chooses for a novice athlete, they do not have to attend any tournaments their first year.

Once you are registered, and on the team, we use a team management app to make sure all the parents are in the know about all things Cardinal Elite — including practices, tournament schedules, any change of plans, etc.

At the beginning of season, the goal is to have a handful of open mats. And when season starts in November, it’ll be two practices a week. With an optional 3rd practice every other week.
Tournaments are on the weekends and if you have a non-competing wrestler, then tournaments do not apply to them. If you have a competing wrestler, tournaments are picked by your family, allowing you to choose which tournaments apply to your wrestler(s) ages, skill level, and schedule.
wHAT IS THE SEASON COMMITMENT?

Tournaments are always on the weekend. The tournament schedules are set at the November Coaches Meeting in Columbia, MO. The coaches pick which tournaments the team will/can attend and will share that schedule with parents as soon as it is set.
When are tournaments?

Wrestling season lasts from November to March. With the state tournament taking place in March.
